We had hoped to blog much more during our trip to Syria, but just didn't get to it! Our delegation kept very busy with visiting Iraqi refugee families and meeting with experts on the refugee crisis. We also were part of the First Symposium in Medical Research and Biostatistics that was organized by the Syrian American Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Mazhar Rishi and I were able to spend time at the AAMAL facility, which is part of the Syrian Organization for the Disabled.
The delegation has distributed knit caps made by supporters of CCB to infants in need. In addition, thanks to our donors, we were able to provide a large quantity of infant formula for the Iraqi refugees.
During our stay we were able to continue to build bridges of friendship between the people of our countries. We are very gracious for the warm hospitality that was given to us by the people of Syria.
